On folding linen in 28 sections, size 98 by 84 cm. Scale approximately 33 km. to the inch. In colour, with the lines of the major railway companies coloured by hand, relating to a key in the bottom left hand corner of the map. Includes an inset map of the Paris region. Folds into marbled endpapers. A very detailed map in good condition. Repaired to reverse with archival standard tape. The signature of John R Sutro in ink dated 1913 appears on the reverse. £30
Photograph album England 1946. In stiff wood-effect boards size 30 by 20 cm. With 28 black and white photos with an average size of 16 by 14 cm. The subjects are people at leisure in London and rural scenes in the provinces and in Scotland. There are some quite striking pictures of a crowd of shoppers around a street market at Marble Arch with costermongers selling from their barrows another around an orator at Speakers’ Corner. Images and album in Good to VG condition but are pasted rather than tipped in. £25
Antique Gems and Rings by C W King, published by Bell and Daldy, London 1872. A 1st edition. In a full leather prize binding with raised bands to the spine size 26 by 18 cm. Two volumes in one, with Volume I 483 pages and Volume II 150 pages (84 pages of text and another 66 pp. of engravings). All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers have a prize bookplate to the front dated 1880 and the front board has the arms of Malvern College gold-stamped to the centre. Good condition with some minor rubbing of the leather. £115
Image of a Chinese gentleman on rice paper. A hand coloured portrait of a figure in traditional costume circa 1880. Image size approximately 16 by 7 cm. on a larger piece of rice paper. The image appears to have been painted and assembled from smaller pieces that have been put together in a sort of collage to make the complete character. Some foxing to the surrounding paper sheet, but otherwise Good to VG condition. £35
