period; railway maps of the capital and maps and plans by a
variety of map-makers and publishers from Vertue, Davies, Archer,
Kelly, Rock and Leigh to the Metropolitan Railway, the Ordnance
Survey and from the lllustrated London News ( I have a splendid panorama of the city from the 1840s).
